The subject of the present invention is a liquid crystal display element having a negative dielectric anisotropy (Δε) and satisfying display in a wide temperature range, high-speed response and low-voltage driveability normally required for a liquid crystal composition. An object of the present invention is to provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition having no or extremely few display defects, and to provide a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition. Permittivity containing one or more compounds selected from the compounds represented by the general formulas (N-1), (N-2) and (N-3) and one or more polymerizable compounds.
