The problem to be solved by the present invention is that the composition has a positive Δε, has a liquid crystal phase in a wide temperature range, has low viscosity, has good solubility at low temperatures, and has a specific resistance and a voltage holding ratio. It is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid crystal composition which is high, stable to heat and light, and has a high elastic constant and a relatively high ε⊥. As the first component, a compound having a positive dielectric anisotropy selected from the group represented by the general formulas (A1) and (A2), and as the second component, a compound represented by the general formula (B) A compound having a selected negative dielectric anisotropy, a compound having a dielectrically neutral property selected from the group represented by the general formula (C) as a third component, and a positive dielectric anisotropy as a whole mixture. Provided is a liquid crystal composition having properties. In addition, a liquid crystal display device using the composition is provided. |
