abstract | The present invention provides a method for screening compounds effective for diseases in corneal endothelium. The method of the present invention comprises (a) bringing a candidate compound into contact with an immortalized cell of Fuchs's corneal endothelial dystrophy in the presence of transforming growth factor (TGF) -β, and the inhibitory activity of the candidate compound on the TGF-β is shown.
