abstract | An object of this invention is to provide the apparatus and method for measuring a brain activity more accurately. In order to achieve this object, the present invention provides a light source probe (20) for irradiating light toward the subject's scalp and a detector for detecting the intensity of light emitted from the scalp via the tissue in the subject's head. The probe (22), the light source probe (20), and the detector probe (22) are supported and disposed between the light source probe (20) and the detector probe (22) so as to cover the scalp.
