titleOfInvention Method for purifying dimethyl sulfoxide
abstract The present invention relates to a method for purifying dimethyl sulfoxide by distilling a liquid containing dimethyl sulfoxide in the presence of sodium carbonate in an inert gas atmosphere, and distilling the dimethyl sulfoxide, the pure amount in the residual liquid after distillation This is a method for purifying dimethyl sulfoxide, wherein the amount of sodium carbonate relative to 100 g of dimethyl sulfoxide is 6 times or more the amount of sodium carbonate relative to 100 g of pure dimethyl sulfoxide in the liquid containing dimethyl sulfoxide before distillation. The method for purifying dimethyl sulfoxide of the present invention causes little decomposition of dimethyl sulfoxide not only in the distillate after distillation (main distillation and pre-distillation) but also in the residual liquid after distillation. Even in the residual liquid after distillation or in the liquid during distillation, dimethyl sulfoxide is hardly decomposed, so that high-purity dimethyl sulfoxide can be obtained by distillation.
