abstract | Provided is a method for producing a catalyst capable of reducing quality spots of a catalyst molded body of a catalyst for producing (meth) acrylic acid. (1) a step of producing a mixture by mixing a catalyst precursor containing a catalyst component, a liquid and a binder, (2) a step of producing a molded body by molding the mixture, and (3) a molded body. Heat-treating at least one of the contact material, the mixture and the molded body after the contact material is produced in step (1) and before the molded body is heat-treated in step (3). The liquid content of the mixture calculated from the amount charged in the step (1) is α% and the liquid content of the mixture immediately before forming in the step (2) is β%. A method for producing a catalyst for producing (meth) acrylic acid, wherein the change rate of the liquid content calculated by the formula (I) is -10% or more and 10% or less.
