titleOfInvention | Optical observation apparatus and control method thereof |
abstract | Provided are an optical observation apparatus and a control method therefor, which can set a polarizing element at an optimum angle without changing the brightness of an observation image. The binoculars (10) include a first polarization element (16), a first rotation drive unit (20), a linearly polarized light component extraction unit (26), an image sensor (28), a polarization direction detection unit (30), and a rotation control unit. (32). The first polarizing element (16) transmits a specific linearly polarized light component. The first polarizing element (16) is rotatably disposed on a surface orthogonal to the optical axis of the first optical path, and is rotationally driven by the first rotation driving unit (20). The linearly polarized light component extraction unit (26) is arranged in a second optical path that is parallel to the first optical path and is independent, and extracts linearly polarized light components for a plurality of polarization directions from incident light. The polarization direction detector (30) detects the optimum polarization direction based on the imaging signal. The rotation control unit (32) controls the first rotation driving unit (20) to set the first polarizing element (16) at an angle at which the linearly polarized light component in the optimum polarization direction is transmitted. |
