abstract | Provided are a novel aromatic polyether ketone and aromatic polyether ketone precursor monomer characterized by comprising a repeating unit represented by the following structural formula (1), and a method for producing them. In the structural formula (1), X is a benzophenone or dibenzoyl aromatic compound, and in this dibenzoyl aromatic compound, A is an aromatic ring or benzophenone. Y is 1,1′-bi-2-naphthol or a substituted derivative thereof, or bisphenolfluorene or a substituted derivative thereof. In this substituted derivative, the substituent R is at least one of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkyloxy group, and an aryloxy group.
