abstract Disclosed is a negative electrode active material capable of improving discharge capacity per unit quantity and charge / discharge cycle characteristics. The negative electrode active material of this embodiment contains at least one of material A and material B and material C. Materials A: in the Raman spectrum, carbonaceous powder material ratio of the peak intensity of 1360 cm -1 to the peak intensity of 1580 cm -1 is 0.5 or less. Materials B: in the Raman spectrum, carbonaceous powder material ratio of the peak intensity of 1360 cm -1 to the peak intensity of 1580 cm -1 is greater than 0.5. Material C: A powder material whose main component is an active material composed of an alloy phase. This alloy phase undergoes a thermoelastic non-diffusion transformation when releasing metal ions or occluding the metal ions.
