abstract | The problem to be solved by the present invention is a paint capable of forming a coating film with low cost, high concealing power, excellent finish, and little absorption and transmission of near infrared rays for various industrial products such as automobile body skins. It is to provide a composition and a method for forming a coating film. The present invention is a coating composition comprising a composite metal oxide pigment comprising a solid solution of a plurality of metal oxides and a titanium oxide pigment, and having a coating thickness of 300 nm to 2500 nm obtained by coating to a film thickness of 20 μm. The spectral reflectance within the range is within the range where the lightness L * of the coating film is within a range of 10-30, the spectral reflectance is within the range of 0-30%, and the lightness L * of the coating film is within the range of 30-70. A coating composition having a spectral reflectance in the range of 30 to 55% within the range, and a spectral reflectance in the range of 55 to 70% within the lightness L * of the coating film in the range of 70 to 90.
