When starting the engine by ignition start, the engine startability is improved. When the cylinder in the expansion stroke is in a state in which high explosion torque can be generated by the ignition start, the ignition start can be performed on the cylinder in the expansion stroke. That is, if a high explosion torque can be generated even if the cylinder in the expansion stroke is first burned, the cylinder in the expansion stroke is burned first. On the other hand, in a state where the oxygen concentration in the cylinder in the expansion stroke is low, the cylinder in the expansion stroke is not burned first, and a cylinder different from the cylinder in the expansion stroke is burned first. Thus, after a high explosion torque is generated in the cylinder in the expansion stroke, the cylinder in the expansion stroke is burned. |
