abstract It is an object to provide a technique useful for controlling the reaction of oxidoreductase. Another object of the present invention is to provide a reaction system that enables efficient conversion of carbon dioxide to formic acid and an efficient methanol production system incorporating the reaction system. A reaction using an oxidoreductase as a catalyst is carried out using an artificial electron carrier, so that the reverse reaction of the redox reaction is selectively advanced. The reaction system is applied to methanol production.
