In a hybrid drive electric vehicle in which an internal combustion engine and an electric motor / generator are connected by a clutch, the controller performs the following processing prior to stopping the operation of the internal combustion engine in a stopped state where the clutch is engaged. That is, it is determined whether or not the clutch can be released within a predetermined time. When the clutch can be released within the predetermined time, the clutch is opened. When the clutch cannot be released within the predetermined time, the clutch is engaged. The operation of the internal combustion engine is stopped after reducing the drive torque of the internal combustion engine to a preset engine stoppable torque. This control prevents the generation of vibration noise and abnormal noise when the driver turns off the ignition button. |
