abstract | Suppresses the white turbidity of the cured product obtained by polymerizing and curing a composition containing sulfur and an episulfide compound. In particular, it suppresses the occurrence of white turbidity in a lens having a thick center thickness called a plus power lens. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical material composition capable of predicting and discriminating the occurrence of white turbidity after curing at a stage and determining whether the product is good or bad. This problem was solved by a composition for optical materials characterized by containing sulfur having an turbidity value of 10 ppm or less and an episulfide compound in a 30% by mass carbon disulfide solution. That is, in the optical material manufactured from the composition for optical materials containing sulfur and an episulfide compound that satisfies the above-mentioned conditions for the turbidity value, white turbidity is prevented and good transparency is realized. Further, it is possible to provide a composition for an optical material capable of predicting and discriminating whether or not white turbidity has occurred after curing at a stage before polymerization and curing, and capable of determining whether it is good or bad. |
