The α-olefin oligomer satisfying the following (1) to (6) and the α-olefin oligomer production method using the specific bi-crosslinked meso-type complex, the dimer component is not in accordance with the Schulz-Flory distribution but is low in viscosity. Provides a small amount of an α-olefin oligomer and a method for producing the same. (1) The trimer component ratio C3 (mass%) is larger than the theoretical value obtained by the SF distribution. (2) The hexamer component ratio C6 (mass%) is smaller than the theoretical value obtained by the SF distribution. (3) The 100 ° C. kinematic viscosity is 20 mm 2 / s or less. (4) Mesotriad fraction [mm] measured by 13 C-NMR is 40 mol% or less. (5) It has 0.2 to 1.0 vinylidene group per molecule. (6) The average carbon number of the monomer unit is 6-30. Here, the SF distribution is calculated based on the chain growth probability α calculated from the dimer component ratio C2 (mass%). |
