titleOfInvention | Mass spectrometer and mass spectrometry method |
abstract | A first mass spectrum is obtained by performing mass analysis using He as a cooling gas (S1), and a second mass spectrum for the same sample is performed by performing mass analysis using Ar, which is heavier than He as a cooling gas. Is acquired (S2). Since there is a difference in the action of accelerating the desorption of the modification product between the two gases, an ion peak derived from the target compound from which all the modification product has been desorbed appears with high intensity in the second mass spectrum. Comparing the peak patterns of the two mass spectra, all the desorbed ion peaks are found while removing unnecessary peaks (S3), and the assignment of each peak is determined based on the peaks (S4). This improves the accuracy of identification and structural analysis by increasing the accuracy of peak assignment on the mass spectrum when mass-analyzing a compound to which an easily detachable modification is bound, such as a sialylated glycosylated peptide.
