abstract | Provided is a method for producing a polyether polyol, which has a low viscosity, has a low odor, and provides good strength and flame retardancy when a rigid foam synthetic resin is produced. A method for producing a polyether polyol in which an alkylene oxide is subjected to ring-opening addition to an initiator obtained by reacting a phenol, an aldehyde and an alkanolamine, the catalyst being produced from propylene oxide and butylene oxide in the absence of a catalyst. A first step of ring-opening addition of at least one selected, and a second step of ring-opening addition of an alkylene oxide, at least part of which is ethylene oxide, in the presence of a catalyst to the reaction product of the first step; A method for producing a polyether polyol, wherein the proportion of ethylene oxide in the total amount of alkylene oxide that undergoes ring-opening addition to the initiator is 5 to 95 mol%. |
