In optical substrates having a high refractive index, particularly plastic lenses, a primer coat layer having excellent impact resistance, scratch resistance, adhesion and high refractive index is produced without causing appearance defects such as non-uniformity and cloudiness. Provided is a primer composition for optical articles that can be formed without being influenced by the material of the plastic lens and has good storage stability. The primer composition for optical articles comprises a urethane resin having a polycarbonate-derived skeleton, a polyester resin, inorganic oxide fine particles, and water, and may contain a water-soluble organic solvent as necessary. |
