Provided is a novel molecule for antisense capable of efficiently controlling the expression of a specific gene. In the novel artificial nucleoside of the present invention, an amide bond is introduced into the 2 ′, 4′-BNA / LNA crosslinked structure as represented by the formulas (I) and (II). The oligonucleotide containing this 2 ′, 4′-bridged artificial nucleotide has a binding affinity for single-stranded RNA comparable to that of known 2 ′, 4′-BNA / LNA and nuclease resistance exceeding that of LNA. In particular, since it has a much stronger binding affinity for single-stranded RNA than S-oligo, application to nucleic acid medicine is expected. |
