titleOfInvention | Method for producing 3-methyl-cyclopentadecenones, method for producing R / S-muscone and method for producing optically active muscone |
abstract | Using a compound of Group 2 of the Periodic Table of Elements as a catalyst, 2,15-hexadecanedione undergoes an intramolecular condensation reaction in the gas phase to produce 3-methyl-cyclopentadecenones. As a catalyst for the intramolecular condensation reaction, any of magnesium oxide, calcium oxide and zinc oxide is preferable. In addition, 3-methyl-cyclopentadecenones thus obtained are hydrogenated using a catalyst to produce R / S-muscone. In addition, as a hydrogenation catalyst, a palladium catalyst is preferable. Further, 3-methyl-cyclopentadecenones are separated into each component by precision distillation, and then asymmetrically hydrogenated using a ruthenium / optically active complex catalyst to generate an optically active muscone. According to these production methods, 3-methyl-cyclopentadecenones, R / S-muscones and optically active muscones can be produced easily and economically. |
