titleOfInvention | Homolactic fermentation from pentose |
abstract | The present invention provides lactic acid bacteria capable of homolactic fermentation using pentose as a substrate. This lactic acid bacterium is pentose assimilating and the phosphoketolase pathway is blocked and the pentose phosphate pathway is activated. The present invention also provides a method for producing lactic acid from pentose using such lactic acid bacteria. The present invention further provides a method for producing such lactic acid bacteria. |
