abstract The capacitor electrode foil includes a base material made of a valve action metal foil, a first roughened layer made of a valve action metal formed by vapor deposition on the first surface of the base material, and a second surface of the base material. And a second roughened layer made of a valve metal formed by vapor deposition. The mode value of the pore diameter of each of the first and second roughened layers is 0.02 μm to 0.10 μm. The thickness of the first roughened layer is greater than the thickness of the second roughened layer. This electrode foil has a roughened layer that can be stably produced by vapor deposition, and a solid electrolytic capacitor having a large capacity can be obtained.
