abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a detection method and a quantification method for a detection target capable of detecting and quantifying the detection target quickly, inexpensively, simply and with high accuracy. In the detection method, the first substance 10 containing the stimulus-responsive polymer 11 and the particulate magnetic substance 19, the first conjugate 10 in which the first antibody 13 against the detection target 50 is bound, and the specimen are mixed. The mixture is subjected to a condition in which the stimuli-responsive polymer 11 is aggregated, then a magnetic force is applied, the generated magnetic field is measured, and the detection target 50 is detected based on the degree of increase in the magnetic field after the magnetic force is applied.
