abstract |
The present invention provides novel glycopeptide antibiotic derivatives. These glycopeptide antibiotic derivatives have the formula: (In the formula, n is an integer of 1 to 5; each Sug is independently a monosaccharide, and (Sug) n is a divalent group formed by combining the same or different 1 to 5 monosaccharides. R A1 is an optionally substituted lower alkyl, an optionally substituted lower alkenyl, or an optionally substituted cycloalkyl; R E is OH or NHAc (Ac is acetyl)) The sugar residue (I) shown is characterized in that it is bonded to the aromatic ring of the fourth amino acid residue in the glycopeptide backbone. These derivatives have antibacterial activity against vancomycin-resistant bacteria. |
