There is a demand for a honeycomb structure excellent in heat resistance, thermal shock resistance, etc., hardly thermally decomposed, and having stable mechanical characteristics even after heat treatment, and a purification apparatus using the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure of the present invention is characterized in that a ceramic body having crystals of MgTi 2 O 5 —Al 2 TiO 5 has a honeycomb structure. Further, the purification device of the present invention comprises a honeycomb structure and a case containing the honeycomb structure and having an inlet and an outlet, and the fluid that has entered from the inlet of the case is supplied with the honeycomb structure. It is configured to pass through and exit from the outlet of the case. |
