The present invention provides a method for producing a silicate blue phosphor having high brightness and a chromaticity y equal to or smaller than that of BAM: Eu. The present invention, at least one general formula aAO · bEuO · (Mg 1- w, Zn w) O · cSiO 2 · dCaCl 2 (A is selected from Sr, Ba and Ca, 2.970 ≦ a ≦ 3.500, 0.006 ≦ b ≦ 0.030, 1.900 ≦ c ≦ 2.100, 0 ≦ d ≦ 0.05, 0 ≦ w ≦ 1). It is a manufacturing method of the silicate blue fluorescent substance characterized by heat-processing in the gas atmosphere of 1200 to 1400 degreeC which has an oxygen partial pressure of 1 * 10 < -15.5 > atm-1 * 10 < -10 > atm. |
