titleOfInvention | Method for producing propylene containing biomass-derived carbon |
abstract | Ethanol obtained from ordinary biomass resources contains impurities in addition to water, and when ethylene is obtained by a dehydration reaction, the impurities themselves or their decomposition products are mixed in ethylene, which adversely affects the activity of the metathesis catalyst. The propylene production method of the present invention converts ethanol obtained from such biomass into ethylene by a dehydration reaction, separates the ethylene and produced water, and then adsorbs and purifies the separated ethylene in an adsorption tower filled with an adsorbent. And performing a metathesis reaction together with a raw material containing n-butene. By this invention, it becomes possible to manufacture efficiently the propylene by which the environmental load containing the carbon derived from biomass was reduced, without reducing a catalyst activity. |
