titleOfInvention Nerve axon formation / elongation by inhibition of Singar expression or function and its application to nerve regeneration
abstract Singar was identified as a novel molecule that changes in expression before and after neuronal polarity formation and exists in the growth cone at the tip of the axon that is important for axon formation and elongation. This Singar is specifically expressed in the brain, and its expression level is greatly increased at the time when the formation of axons is active in the individual. Singar was strongly enriched in the growth cone at the tip of the axon, and when Singar expression was suppressed in cultured neurons, the formation of multiple axons was induced. Thus, since suppression of Singar induces axon formation, it is possible to induce and promote axon formation or elongation in nerve cells by suppressing expression or activity of Singar.
