titleOfInvention | Hepatocyte replication promoter and insulin resistance improver |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a drug and method for promoting replication of hepatocytes, and to provide a drug and method for improving insulin resistance. An effective amount of a neutralizing agent for CXCL10 belonging to a subfamily of chemokines, which are heparin-binding proteins, is administered to hepatocytes to promote hepatocyte replication. As the neutralizing agent for CXCL10, a factor that specifically binds to CXCL10 and suppresses the activity of CXCL10 or a factor that suppresses the expression of CXCL10 is preferably used. The liver tissue can be repaired and regenerated by administering the neutralizing agent to the liver tissue having a disorder. On the other hand, insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and the like is improved by administering an effective amount of a neutralizing agent for CXCL10 to hepatocytes. |
