titleOfInvention | Method for producing biopterins using tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthetic enzyme |
abstract | Biopterins are useful compounds used in pharmaceuticals and functional foods. Conventionally, the presence of sepiapterin reductase (SPR) involved in biosynthesis of biopterins has not been confirmed in microorganisms, except for a small part such as cyanobacteria, and in producing biopterins efficiently using microorganisms, Acquisition and utilization of SPR genes derived from microorganisms have been desired. The present inventors have found that when yeast YIR035C gene or Bacillus subtilis yueD gene is transformed into yeast or Escherichia coli, the transformed microorganism secretes biopterins into the culture medium. Based on this discovery, the present invention provides a polypeptide useful for the production of biopterin using a microorganism, a DNA encoding the same, a recombinant vector containing the DNA, and a transformant transformed with the vector. In addition, an efficient method for producing biopterins using the transformant is provided. |
