In a method for producing bisphenols by reacting phenols and ketones, a modified ion exchange resin catalyst having a higher bisphenol selectivity than conventional modified ion exchange resins and a method for producing the same are provided. A modified ion exchange resin, wherein at least one compound selected from the following (A) and (B) is ionically bonded to an acidic functional group of an acidic ion exchange resin. |
