The present invention provides submicron-sized drug microparticles excellent in long-term dispersibility. Specifically, 1) a drug is dissolved in one or more good solvents or mixed good solvents to prepare a drug-containing solution, and 2) the drug-containing solution is a poor solvent or a mixed poor solvent for the drug, 3) Mixing with a good solvent or a solvent that is miscible with a drug-containing solution dissolved in a mixed good solvent, and 3) without going through a pretreatment step in which the prepared mixed solution is made to have an average particle diameter of 100 μm or less. Provided is a method for producing ultrafine drug particles and an apparatus for producing the same, which are obtained by directly emulsifying at a constant treatment pressure using a high-pressure homogenizer and having an average particle diameter of 10 nm to 1000 nm. |
