abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing an optically active carboxylic acid derivative (particularly 2R-propyloctanoic acid), characterized by using a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces, and to a microorganism used in the method. The method of the present invention is characterized in that (1) it is not necessary to use an expensive optically active compound, and (2) a racemic alkylcarboxylic acid ester derivative as a starting material can be obtained at low cost. Compared to the method, it is a method suitable for industrial mass synthesis. |
