(A) In a polymer compound having a polyvinyl alcohol unit represented by the following general formula (1) in a molecule and having an average degree of polymerization of 20 or more, a part or all of the hydroxyl groups in the polyvinyl alcohol unit is a cyano group-substituted monovalent carbon.
