An anti-osteopontin antibody that inhibits the binding between an integrin that recognizes the RGD sequence and osteopontin or a fragment thereof and inhibits the binding between an integrin that recognizes the SVVYGLR sequence or its equivalent sequence and osteopontin or a fragment thereof is disclosed. This antibody is useful as a therapeutic agent for an autoimmune disease, a therapeutic agent for rheumatism or a therapeutic agent for rheumatoid arthritis, and provides a method for treating an autoimmune disease, rheumatism or rheumatoid arthritis. The osteopontin antibody is also useful as a diagnostic agent and a diagnostic method for rheumatism. |
