titleOfInvention | Novel cancer-related genes |
abstract | The present invention provides a DNA comprising a base sequence encoding the following polypeptide (protein) (a) or (b): (A) a polypeptide consisting of the same or substantially the same amino acid sequence as the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2, (B) an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2 in which some amino acids are deleted, substituted or added, and are substantially the same as the function of the polypeptide of (a); A biologically active polypeptide. The present invention further provides an antibody that binds to the protein, an anticancer agent containing the antibody, a method of screening for a substance that binds to the protein or a partial peptide thereof, and hybridization with the DNA of the present invention under stringent conditions. And a polynucleotide comprising at least 15 bases and a method for detecting cancer using the polynucleotide as a probe. The DNA of the present invention is a gene associated with cancer, and it is considered that cancer can be suppressed by inhibiting the binding of a ligand to the protein of the present invention. Therefore, the antibody of the present invention can be used not only for detecting the protein of the present invention, but also for treating or preventing cancers such as prostate cancer and ovarian cancer. |
