titleOfInvention Method for producing 1,1-bis- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane
abstract According to the present invention, phenol and 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone (TMC) are reacted in the presence of an acid catalyst to form 1,1-bis- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -3,3,5-trimethyl In a method for producing cyclohexane (BPTMC), a reaction between phenol and TMC is started in a slurry comprising phenol adduct crystals of BPTMC and hydrous phenol in the presence of an acid catalyst, and the reaction is subsequently performed in the slurry. A method for producing a BPTMC is provided. According to such a method, there is provided a method capable of industrially stably producing BPTMC with high selectivity and high yield.
