titleOfInvention Production of tetraglycidylamino compound
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound having high quality and low viscosity as well as reduced residual halogen amount, by reacting a specific diamine with a excess epihalohydrin in the presence of water, reacting the product with an alkaline in the presence of water and then extracting the product with a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A diamine (e.g. m- or p-xylylene diamine) expressed by the formula (A is phenylene or cyclohexylene) is reacted with a stoichiometrically excess epihalohydrin (e.g. epichlorohydrin) in the presence of >=2mol. water, based on the above-mentioned diamine to afford a polyhalohydrin compound which is reacted with an alkali in the presence of water to carry out dehydrohalogenation reaction. Then, the resultant tetraglycidylamino compound is extracted with a solvent and the aimed compound is separated from the extract.
