abstract | PURPOSE:To extend usable life and to enhance rising speed of electric charging by incorporating an aliphatic acid metal salt in the surfaces of carrier particles coated with a specified polymer. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic charge image developing carrier is obtained by coating a magnetic powder with at least one of a styrene type polymer, an acrylic polymer, and a styrene acrylic copolymer, preferably, each having an average molecular weight of 5,000-500,000, preferably, such as a styrene- acrylic copolymer with respect to a coating performance, especially, a styrene- methyl methacrylate copolymer, and the surface of the carrier contains the metal salt, such as Li, Na, K, Cu, or Ag, of the aliphatic acid, such as stearic acid, caprilic acid, or pelagonic acid, preferably in an amount of 0.001-0.04wt.% of the carrier. |
