abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a satisfactory photographic effect by using a photographic silver halide compsn. contg. a nondiffusible photographic p-alkoxybenzoyl acetanilide yellow dye forming coupler having electron withdrawing groups at the m-or ppositions of the anilide part and a group releasable by coupling and represented by a prescribed formula. CONSTITUTION: This silver halide compsn. contains a nondiffusible photographic p-alkoxybenzoyl acetanilide yellow dye forming coupler having electron withdrawing groups at the m- or p-positions of the anilide part and a group releasable by coupling and represented by the formula -TIME-PUG, in which PUG is a residue of a photographically useful group such as a residue of a development inhibitor and TIME is a group represented by the formula (where R<5> is alkyl or hydroxyphenyl, R<7> is -NO2 , -NHSO2 CH3 , -NHCOCH3 , -SO2 NHCH3 , -SO2 CH3 or -CN, R<8> is H, Cl or -CH3 , R<9> is H or R<7> and (n) is 0 or 1). When this compsn. is used, the photographically useful group is released in a delayed state and a satisfactory photographic effect is produced.
