titleOfInvention | Production of permselective hollow yarn |
abstract | PURPOSE:To produce the title permselective hollow yarn appropriate for the purification of blood to remove harmful substances such as beta2-microglobulin in the intermediate mol.wt. region by saponifying the hollow yarn so that the difference in the thickness between the hollow yarn membranes when moistened before and after saponification is controlled to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A plasticizer such as polyethylene glycol is added to cellulose diacetate, the mixture is melted, the melt is spun from a spinneret for hollow yarn, and the yarn is dipped in an aq. alkaline soln. of sodium hydroxide, etc., and saponified. In this case, the saponification is carried out at <=60 deg.C, and the ratio t1/t2 of the thickness t1 of the hollow yarn membrane when moistened before saponification to the thickness t2 of the hollow yarn membrane when moistened after saponification is controlled to >=1.1. The permselective hollow yarn thus obtained and consisting of a cellulose ester is appropriately used for removing harmful substances such as beta2-microglobulin and an erythroblast inhibitor in the intermediate mol.wt. region in the blood dialysis, filtration and dialysis of blood, etc. |
