titleOfInvention Recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having a high color forming property and a high developed color density and showing a blue-bluish purple hue of developed color, by using a color former having both 2-H-indole and 4-substd. aminobenzene in the skeleton thereof. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative colorless dye of formula I (each of R1, R2 and R3 is hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl, each of X and Y is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkoxyl, halogen, nitro or substd. amino, and each of m and n is an integer of 1-4) and an electron-acceptive compound such as a phenol derivative and a salicylic acid derivative are dispersed in a binder to prepare 8 coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a base such as a paper and a plastic sheet, followed by drying to provide a color forming layer, thereby producing a recording material. The recording material ensures favorable stability of developed color images.
