titleOfInvention | Manufacture of multi-layer sheet |
abstract | PURPOSE:To manufacture a multi-layer sheet whose interlaminar adhesion is sufficient, by performing coextrusion of a polymer capable of a forming an anisotropic melt to which a glass fiber has been added at a specific ratio and a thermoplastic polymer other than the polymer capable of forming the anisotropic melt. CONSTITUTION:A multi-layer sheet is manufactured by performing coextrusion of a liquid crystalline polymer to which 5-50wt.% glass fiber has been added and a thermoplastic polymer other than the liquid crystalline polymer. Copolymer of p-hydroxybenzoic acid and polyethylene terephthalate is mentioned as the liquid crystalline polymer. It is necessary that the liquid crystalline polymer possesses viscosity through which extrusion molding is possible and it is preferable definitely that melt viscosity under shearing rate of 1000 sec<-1> is 300 poises or more. A matter used for reinforcement of plastic is used for the glass fiber whose diameter is 10-30mu and a mean glass fiber length becomes 0.1-0.5mm. Engineering plastic other than general purpose resin such as polyethylene is cited as the thermoplastic polymer. |
