titleOfInvention Aliphatic polycarbonate and production thereof
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent polymer having high heat resistance and hardness and low water absorption photoelasticity constant, by polycondensing bischloroformate of bis(hydroxycyclohexyl)propane with bis(hydroxycyclohexyl) propane. CONSTITUTION:Bischloroformate (preferably of >=95% purity) of 2,2-bis(4- hydroxycyclohexyl)propane and 2,2-bis(4-hydroxycyclohexyl)propane are polycondensed in the presence of an acid binder (preferably pyridine, quinoline, etc.) in an inert solvent at -10-+30 deg.C to afford the aimed polycarbonate having constituent units expressed by the formula and 0.3-1.0dl/g reduced viscosity [etaSP] measured by using a solution thereof in 0.2g/dl concentration in methylene chloride as a solvent at 20 deg.C.
