abstract | PURPOSE:To prevent generation of malodor due to ammonia and S compds. due to evaporation concentration treatment of waste liquid of photographic processing by irradiating the waste photographic processing liquid directly with far infrared rays in the stage of concentrating the waste liquid by heating and evaporation. CONSTITUTION:When waste liquid of photographic processing is concentrated by heating and evaporation, a far infrared rays generating means 70 is installed so as to irradiate the waste liquid directly with the far infrared rays. Examples for the means for generating strong far infrared rays are Globar, Nernet-Globar, quartz Hg lamp, or Pt ribbon heated by feeding electric current, etc., generating electromagnetic wave having 5mu-1mm wavelength. Preferred output of the far infrared rays generating means is 10W-100kW. As a result, the amt. of gaseous ammonia to be generated in the vapor due to evaporation and concentration of the photographic processing liquid can be reduced remarkably. Generation of malodor due to S compds. generated by the progress of concentration can be reduced also remarkably. |
