titleOfInvention Fluorinated dibenzylidene polyhydric alcohol derivative, nonaqueous gelatinizing agent containing said derivative and cosmetic using said derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula (m and n are 0-5 but not 0 at the same time; p is 0-2). EXAMPLE:1,3;2,4-Bis(3-fluorobenzylidene)-D-sorbitol (3-F-DBS). USE:A nonaqueous gelatinizing agent to be added to cosmetics. PREPARATION:For example, a polyhydric alcohol is reacted with fluorinated benzaldehyde in the molar ratio of the former to the latter of 1:1.6-2.2 in the presence of an acid catalyst (e.g. sulfuric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid) and formed water and a solvent are distilled away by azeotropy to give a compound shown by the formula.
