titleOfInvention Additive for long life, high concentration coal-water slurry
abstract PURPOSE:To realize formation of a high concn. coal-water slurry having a low viscosity and a self flowability of long life, by adding a formaldehyde condensate of an (alkyl)naphthalenesulfonic acid having a particular degree of condensation and a particular fatty acid to a high concn. coal-water slurry produced by a wet process. CONSTITUTION:An additive which is used in the production of a high concn. coal-water slurry through pulverization of a coal in the presence of water comprises a formaldehyde condensate (a) of naphthalenesulfonic acid and/or an alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid having an average degree of condensation of 31-500, pref. 35-100 or a salt thereof and a fatty acid (b) of 6-10C on the average or a salt thereof. It is pref. to mix the components (a) and (b) in an (a) to (b) wt. ratio of 50:50-98:2.
