titleOfInvention | Production of superconducting fiber |
abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having excellent handleability, by impregnating a nonmetallic element compound material with a solution containing a metallic element constituting a superconducting material, heat-treating the material to form fine powder, forming fibers from the powder and baking the product. CONSTITUTION:Metallic elements constituting a superconducting material composed of a ceramic mixture of preferably Y, La, Ba, Sr, Cu, Ni, etc., are dissolved in a solution using a nitric acid solution as a solvent, the obtained solution is impregnated in a nonmetallic element compound material such as wood pulp or cotton linter and dried in air. The obtained nonmetallic element compound material is heat-treated preferably in the presence of oxygen to form fine powder. The fine powder is mixed with a binder, etc., formed to fiber preferably by composite spinning and baked in an oxygen-containing atmosphere to obtain the objective fiber suitable for magnet coil, electric wire, etc. |
