PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a vulcanized product excellent in heat resistance, low-temperature resistance and water resistance, by mixing a chlorosulfonated ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer of a specified composition with a metal (hydro)oxide, an epoxy compound, thiurams and a maleimide. CONSTITUTION:An ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer of an ethylene/alpha-olefin ratio of 98/2-60/40 is chlorinated and chlorosulfonated to obtain a chlorosulfonated ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer (A) of a chlorine content of 25-32wt.% and a surfur content of 0.3-2.5wt.%. 100pts.wt. component A is mixed with 1-4pts.wt. metal oxide or metal hydroxide (B) such as MgO or Ca(OH)2, 3-15pts.wt. epoxy compound (C) (e.g., Epikote 828), 0.5-5pts.wt. thiuram (D) (e.g., dipentamethylenethiuram tetrasulfide) as a vulcanization accelerator and 0.5-5 pts.wt. maleimide (E) (e.g., N,N'-m-phenylenedimaleimide) as a vulcanization accelerator or an antioxidant. |
