titleOfInvention Corrugated fiberboard box
abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the release of ethylene gas cause by the rise of atmospheric temperature during the transportation of an agricultural product, by compounding an ethylene adsorbent composed of a polymer complex or an inorganic complex with a specific substance and applying the obtained freshness- retaining agent to corrugated fiberboard. CONSTITUTION:The objective corrugated fiberboard box is made of corrugated fiberboard attached with a specific freshness-retaining agent. The freshness- retaining agent to be applied contains, as essential components, (A) an ethylene adsorbent selected from (a) a polymer complex produced by coordinating copper (I) chloride and aluminum chloride to crosslinked polystyrene, (b) a polymer complex produced by coordinating silver (I) chloride and aluminum chloride to crosslinked polystyrene, (c) a polymer complex produced by coordinating copper (I) chloride to an ion exchange polymer, (d) an inorganic complex produced by coordinating copper (I) ion to zeolite, etc., (B) a highly water-absorbing polymer, (C) a polyvalent metal salt having a valency of >=2 and capable of taking a lower valency and (D) sodium bisulfite capable of reducing the polyvalent metal salt in the presence of water to form a metal salt having decreased valency.
